Welcome to my Blog!

Hey there! My name is Jamie and I am a portrait photographer based out of the Minneapolis, MN area. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to share my passion behind the camera.

This is a place where my clients, family, friends, and other photographers can check out my recent work, read my entertaining or (semi) motivating personal stories :) , as well as get a feel for who I am.

Take a minute to look around, leave me a little blog love in my comments, or email me for more information.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sariah: 18 months and a sibling on the way

The shy side of little ones often brings out the photos that melt your heart. It is a soft sweet side of them that brings out the bigs eyes and pouty lips. Miss Sariah gave me her perfect shy side. At 18 months (typically a very active age) I was able to take full advantage of her uncertainty and to catch her in the cutest pair of rolled skinny jeans and ballet flats I’ve seen on a little one. I was thrilled to finally meet Sariah as they live in Maryland. You may remember their parents from my first feature in the MSP magazine a couple years ago, (All the attractive men on the motorcycle) and mom’s pregnancy session later the following year. I can’t wait for them to return this summer with their second bundle of joy and dad too :)

Sweet photo with “Gammy”

Tomorrah and 3 of her closest girlfriends are all pregnant at the same time. If they lived in the same state, I’d swore they planned it :) All the ladies were supposed to be there, but we missed the twin sisters. Hope all is well with the ladies we missed!

Two best friends due a month a part.

Attitude. Own it. Then change it.

I think we all have these days. We wake up. Look in the mirror. Stare. Criticize… and then let yourself stay in a slump all day thinking about everything that you haven’t gotten done, still need to do and don’t want to. Or… your simply having an “ugly day” and catch a glimpse of yourself in a mirror and can’t believe you walked out of the house with that shirt on. Yes, we all have these days. So, even if it’s just for one day… tell yourself you are going to give yourself 15 more minutes to have a bad attitude. Go ahead and own that attitude for the full 15 minutes and really sulk. Then, stand up from where your sitting… as much as you might not want to… stand up and decide to change your attitude. Just like that. Just do it. Aaaanndd if it doesn’t work…. well come see me and my bestie and we will do the song and dance we had to perform to get her daughter to get out of her funk. You will snap right out of it. Promise :)

Here’s Miss Kamryn at 9 months.

Fitness: 9 Months Later

She is the girl in the hardest fitness class that could still take less breaks than me. At 39 weeks pregnant, my best friend was still my motivation to push myself further than I did the week before. An athlete to the core (former Olympic triple jumper in 2008), Shani has always been in shape. But, she works hard for it my friends. Staying in shape while pregnant, and bringing her stomach muscles back together for her six pack to show again was simply hard work. Just because she is an athlete doesn’t mean she hasn’t pushed herself to get where she is at. I say this because many people assume that it was easy… it took dedication. So… begin your goal now.. because in nine months… you would’ve wished you started today! No excuses.

Here is my bestie nine months later… and Miss Kamryn saying… “My mom has a six pack.. does yours?” :)

Can you even stand her in her little leg warmers? :)

Stylized Shoot: Amy and Tavin

It begins with an idea. One that comes from inspiration from a magazine, a favorite part of a movie, or even favorite memory. A stylized shoot tells a story. It gives you a feel for who you are and where you are in your life. A day in your life. Your style, your favorite activities, and the bond you share with those you love the most. Be creative and give yourself another memory, another look back into the little things in life that make it worth the ride.

This stylized shoot with Amy and Tavin was a blast. This is a day in their life and the the little things that make them… well… them. From the way he holds her hand, their goofy faces and constant laughter, to the sandy jeans, fresh lemonade and quilt that grandma made… this is who they are.

LOVE this.
