One of my favorite things about my shoots is having the capability to capture a family as they are. Everything isn’t sunshine and rainbows.. so my sessions shouldn’t be either. I love having the ability to flip a pouting child around and get him back smirking at me. Leyton had a moment where he decided he wasn’t a fan of pictures anymore… I made sure mom and dad took a back seat and I worked my magic. Kora and I played around, had some fun… and in the midst I would joke around and glare over to Leyton. As we played our last game of the shoot… I managed to flip the switch and he was back! I honestly rarely worry about getting kids to do what I want… because I know somehow, someway… I’ll get my way
So, parents… if you haven’t heard me say it before… Don’t discipline during our session. Mood swings, attitudes, even full blown temper tantrums don’t phase me. I manage to get them past it and then they find a way to like me even more!
